A European Dream – Youth Exchange Project
06 May – 14 May 2017, Slovenia – Koper.
Lycian Pathfinders is looking for 2 or 3 participants aged between 18-28 and resident in Turkey for the “A European Dream” – Youth Exchange Project to be organized in Slovenia between 06.05.2017 – 14.05.2017. Partners are from Northern Ireland, The Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia and Turkey.
A European Dream – Youth Exchange Project is financed under the title of Erasmus+ Programme.
The project is very relevant in the context of the current geopolitical situation in Europe where integration of nations, as well as the new refugees, seems almost impossible. In response to Brexit, president of the European Parliament recently stated in a public article that ‘EU is in a existential crisis’. We’d like to address this deep crisis of identity and try to understand it through understanding our common history and current situation via storytelling methods.
Through the project we would like to address a question: is European integration even possible in this moment and how? How to integrate different nations, and do they even want that (UK for example)? How do we also integrate tens of thousands of new citizens of EU that came here because of the conflict and war in their own countries? We would like to address a human need for common identity and make sense of this identity in the context of European Union.
Turkish participants are kindly requested to share and reflect their comments and views about the “existential crisis of EU” from their own point of view and actively participate in the project.
Storytelling, debating, Theatre of the Oppressed are the main tools to be implemented during the project with other non-formal education methods.
